Position Summary:

The Interior Designer will play a key role in launching and growing Drexel Interiors’ new stock cabinet line. This position combines product development, vendor coordination, space planning, and, once launched, a strong focus on sales to large production builders and other key clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Phase 1 — Stock Cabinet Line Setup:

Collaborate with management to identify and source stock cabinet products that align with Drexel Interiors’ quality and pricing standards.

Develop and recommend a product assortment, including SKU selections, color options, and stock levels.

Assist with vendor negotiations and purchasing decisions.

Plan, design, and organize the physical display space to showcase the stock line effectively.

Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to ensure proper storage, handling, and display logistics.

Prepare documentation and marketing materials to support the launch.

Phase 2 — Sales & Client Development:

Transition into an active sales role once the stock cabinet line is operational.

Promote and sell the stock line to large production builders and other target markets.

Build and maintain relationships with builder accounts, contractors, and designers.

Prepare design proposals, layouts, and quotes tailored to client needs.

Meet or exceed sales targets and performance metrics.

Provide excellent customer service and post-sale support.

Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and new product developments.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience in interior design, product sourcing, or related fields.

Strong knowledge of cabinetry, kitchen & bath products, or similar building materials.

Excellent organizational and project management skills.

Strong communication and negotiation abilities.

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Sales experience or demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships is a plus.

Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, 2020 Design, or similar) is preferred.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position based in the Indianapolis office, with local travel as needed to meet with vendors and clients.
