Full job description
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Building Associate (Graduate/Fresher Level) to become a valuable part of our dynamic construction team. This is a hands-on role where you'll work alongside supervisors, skilled tradespeople, and project managers to help deliver high-quality building projects on time and to standard.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight: Manage daily activities on the construction site, ensuring timelines and budgets are adhered to.
Team Supervision: Lead construction workers and subcontractors, clearly outlining duties and ensuring effective task execution.
Health & Safety Management: Implement and enforce workplace safety standards; ensure proper use of personal protective equipment and compliance with regulations.
Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections to verify that all work meets the required specifications and quality benchmarks.
Work Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed schedules; coordinate efficiently with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve on-site challenges promptly to avoid project delays.
Documentation & Reporting: Keep accurate records of site activities and provide regular updates to project managers or engineers.
Material Coordination: Track and manage building materials; place orders as needed to avoid shortages or delays.
Cost Management: Assist in controlling project expenses through effective resource planning and usage.
Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the point of contact for clients, architects, and inspectors to ensure project alignment and compliance.
Location: Auckland, New Zealand
Hours: Minimum 30 hours/week
Pay Rate: $25 – $32 per hour (based on qualification and/or experience, if any)
Other important requirements:
A minimum Level 6 qualification in Construction / Civil Engineering is a must.
Some relevant work experience in addition to the qualification will be a bonus, but not mandatory
Available to work on weekends and extended hours – if required
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Self-motivated and a passionate individual
