Burns & McDonnell India is looking for an experienced Piping Engineer interested in growing their careers in an organization listed among top 100 Great Places to work in India. The “Global Facilities” (GFS) business unit handles engineering of facilities in the North America region which includes food & beverage facilities, consumer product facilities. The Mumbai office has a full complement of professionals with expertise in architecture, civil, electrical, control & automation, fire protection, mechanical, structural engineering, and project management. The successful candidate will report the Mechanical Section Manager and be involved in design piping systems including process and utility on various food & Beverages and
Consumer Products projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• To determine and develop the layout of the overall plant facility including detailed
design using various design-related tools like Plant 3D, AutoCAD
• Work within a 2D / 3D model environment and assist designers to produce project
specific documents such as P&IDs, Piping plan & Section Views, Piping Isometrics, Pipe
Support layout
• Develop and update piping material specifications, Valve specifications, Insulation
Specification, Piping MTO as needed
• Reviewing design documents from equipment suppliers and Vendor submittals from
Contractor• Analyzing technical documents such as specifications, calculations, drawings, etc
• Maintain strong knowledge of piping material specifications and familiarity with national
and international codes and standards (IS, ASME, API, BS, EN).
• Review 3D models using various 3D review software platforms to ensure design
integrity.
• Collaborate effectively in workshare environments with lead offices and other
disciplines.
• Interact with all stakeholders, including interdisciplinary teams, clients, and vendors, to
facilitate project success.
• Participation in 3D model reviews & Clash Coordination
• Understanding of Laser scan modeling and Preparation of As Built documents
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 2 - 5 years of working experience in industrial piping design.
• Hands-on experience on projects in the North America region and knowledge of plant 3D
will be a plus.
