Job Description
This is a part-time job as a regular bus driver, working a minimum of 25 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 10 months per year.
Essential Duties:
Drive a school bus along a designated route; pick up and discharge students in accordance with time schedules;
Observe legal and defensive driving practices;
Maintain order and discipline among passengers on the bus and while waiting at bus stops;
Conduct required daily safety inspections of buses;
Transport students, faculty, and parents on field trips or other events;
Assist handicapped students to board, sit in, and leave the bus safely;
Determine appropriate action in potential or real medical emergency situations;
Utilize two-way radios for bus-to-bus and bus-to-base communications;
Maintain routine records related to assigned activities.
Requirements:
Valid Class A or B California Motor Vehicle Operator's License with passenger transportation endorsement;
California Special Driver Certificate valid for school buses;
Current DMV printout dated within the last 30 days;
California Highway Patrol approved first aid card;
Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate;
At least six (6) months of experience as a school bus driver preferred.

School bus and outdoor environment, seasonal heat and cold or adverse weather conditions, evening or variable hours, exposure to fumes, dust, odors, and oil/grease.
