Position Overview Role Description The Scrum Master is responsible for ensuring a team lives agile values and principles and follows the agreed processes and practices to allow the team to continually improve their performance. The Scrum Master leads from a position of influence, taking a servant-leadership stance i.e., demonstrates a leadership philosophy in which the main goal of the leader is to serve. Responsibilities include proactively removing blockers to team success, establishing an environment where the team can be effective, and protecting the team from outside interruptions and distractions. The Scrum Master also acts to ensure a good relationship between the team and Product Owner as well as others outside the team, facilitating meetings and Scrum events, and working with the Product Owner to make sure the upcoming book of work (backlog) is sufficiently defined and ready for the creation of the next product increment (sprint).
