Department Description
The FICC Transformation team is a dedicated team of project and client facing resources that are focused on delivering against large scale change initiatives that span across business units to address Industry, Business and Client requirements across the FICC organization. The group provides a unique mix of project skills and product experience that are not tied to a specific business unit enabling it to provide a consistent, high-quality and responsive approach to the way we manage and execute change across the Corporate & Investment Bank.
The Athena Program is a multi-year Initiative under the FICC Transformation. The Initiative is focused on re-engineering and consolidating all components of the Rates, Credit, Commodities, Equities and FX Businesses across Front, Middle and Back Offices as well as the Technology footprint in supporting each.
The Team
The team provides end to end technology solutions for the firm's Investment Banking, Sales & Trading and Risk Management business areas. Working closely with Technology, the Middle Office, Finance and Business management, the team is responsible for defining and implementing Rates Athena across multiple work streams including transaction management and life-cycle events, reference data, and core feeds.
Athena is a strategic platform for processing and risk managing securities and derivatives in the Investment Bank. It is currently used by the FX, Commodities and Rates businesses globally. It is responsible for product modeling, trade capture, risk, event and position management, providing the books and records to the bank for trades and feeding downstream back office systems such as accounting, settlements, legal documentation and regulatory reporting. The products managed on this platform range from high volume listed and flow derivative products to extremely complex over-the-counter structured and securitized derivatives.

Job Responsibilities / Role:
• Manage medium sized implementation and testing projects
• Subject Matter Expert on Derivatives asset class.
• Lead or participate in multiple global/regional Implementation projects simultaneously.
• Create and maintain project schedules by developing project plans and specifications, estimating time and resources, monitoring milestone completion, tracking all phases of the project lifecycle.
• Manage Stakeholder expectations with regular updates on project progress and highlight Risk/dependencies and path to resolution.
• Senior Management Communication on progress, risk etc.
• Resolve escalated Risks, Assumptions and Issues management
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Front Office/Middle Office/Back Office/Finance and other functional groups
• Gather/documents/review user requirements across user groups.
• Collaborate with technology leads to devise implementation strategy/resolve issues.
• Work closely with developers to deliver build/track/test Jiras.
• Provide project level analysis – producing required project analysis documentation (requirements, scope matrix, use cases, flow diagrams, proposals, UAT plan, migration plan, Runbook etc.)
• End to End Test management including creation of automation scripts, defect & Gap analysis etc.
• Create and maintain issue logs, meeting minutes, meeting schedules, project summaries and updates.
• Maintain global consistency for solutions and technical implementations.
• Provide sign-off for changes to be promoted to production post testing.
• Adhere to bank’s internal processes (configuration management, change control, System/Data access etc.)
• Actively seek and apply Process Improvements across the project and BAU Processes.
• Delivery management through vendors and internal entities like data centers, development teams.
Basic Qualification:
• Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Formal training in Project Management, a plus.
• Experience in FX, Derivatives, finance, banking domain, a plus.
• Should be experienced on working with global teams.
Total and Relevant Experience:
• 5-8 years of relevant business analysis and testing experience
• Should have lead or been actively engaged in complex Global implementation programs preferably in Finance Domain.
Technical Skills Required :
• Hands-on Experience of Business Analysis & Project Management tools
• Hands-on experience with Visio, Microsoft office suite (including Macros)
• Good understanding of major relational database management systems Oracle, Sybase etc.
• Knowledge on python scripting & Hydra databases is a plus.
• Familiar with major technology operating systems like Unix and Windows.
Non-Technical Skills Required:
• Good communications skills, written and verbal.
• Strong Business Analytical skills and delivery focus backed with good management, communication, leadership, interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals
• Experienced in analyzing and resolving complex business problems using software workflow.
• Experienced in Managing stake holders across business units and functions, organizations and geographies
• Proven ability to deliver under pressure and demanding deadlines
• Ability to translate ambiguously defined objectives into concrete actions and deliverables and manages their execution.
