About the Role

As a Business Analyst in our Delivery & Transformation team, you’ll play a key role in helping to support the planning, delivery and implementation of the strategic roadmap for the workstreams within the Financial Crime Compliance Program of Action (FCC PoA). You will be responsible for discovering, synthesising, and analysing information from a variety of sources to support strategic decision making and project implementation. This includes elicitation and analysis of business requirements from stakeholders to enable solution design. You will also collaborate with business, compliance and technology stakeholders to develop and evaluate options for solution implementation to enhance Suncorp Bank’s financial crime capabilities.

Role Type: Fixed Term contract (12 to 18 months)
Role Location: Brisbane, Melbourne, or Sydney
Work Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours)

What will your day look like?

As a Business Analyst, you will:
Assist in the design, implementation and benefits expectations of the scope of work for the workstream including but not limited to business process, procedure and framework analysis, reporting etc
Identify and evaluate business needs and recommend solutions to optimise business processes and increase efficiency
Analyse and interpret data to inform decision making and recommend solutions
Partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand strategic business requirements, gather feedback and management of analysis all the while ensuring alignment to purpose and priorities.
Ensure the crossover with connected programs is identified and actively managed to reduce delivery silos and/or duplication or work
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including presenting findings and recommendations to senior management
Understanding the Suncorp Bank business context including the strategy, key systems/process, and important issues/constraints.
Documenting “as is” and “to be” processes
Stay current on industry trends and regulations
Managing risks, issues and change requests
Structured problem-solving approach
Improve customer experience and simply processes via critical thinking and systems thinking
What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Demonstrated experience or expertise in one or more of the following disciplines: Business Analysis, Project/PMO Management, and/or Change Management.
Experience working in Banking or Financial services
Strong presentation skills and highly experienced in preparing and conducting workshops, eliciting, documenting and managing requirements using a broad range of innovative elicitation practices/techniques
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence outcomes at all levels of the business
Proficiency with collaboration tools (JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Excel, etc.)
Ability to write acceptance criteria, business rules, user stories and other methods of recording business and (non-)functional requirements, in a way that fully and accurately represents the scope and aligns with the strategy.
Experience in requirements traceability and scope/change control, tracking decisions, and participating in risk & issue management.
Able to process large amounts of information effectively, thinking creatively/divergently, making-decisions, learning quickly.
Process Management – Modelling, analysing & improving processes, decisions, and root causes
Planning & Project Support - Estimating analysis tasks, choosing the correct analysis approach, facilitating prioritisation & backlog management, and functionally decomposing complex items into manageable components. Supporting the other stages of SDLC e.g. QA, UAT, deployment, post-deployment support, etc.
Design - Specifying the way a system should behave and appear (UX), including prototyping (often in conjunction with a specialist UX-designer).
General or SME knowledge of financial crime risk and regulatory requirements will be highly regarded
