Job Description
Merchant Acquiring Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing business requirements, defining functional specifications, and supporting the implementation of acquiring solutions across POS and E-commerce channels. The role ensures business objectives are clearly translated into system capabilities while maintaining operational efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Strategic:
Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for merchant acquiring processes.
Conduct process analysis and gap assessments to identify improvements in acquiring workflows and system functionalities.
Define end-to-end process flows covering merchant onboarding, transaction processing, settlement, reconciliation, dispute handling, and reporting.
Collaborate with Product, Business, Operations, Risk, IT, Compliance, and Finance teams to ensure alignment on system requirements and business priorities.
Support the design of new product features and enhancements within the acquiring ecosystem.
Assist in developing operational procedures, documentation, and training materials for internal stakeholders.
Ensure all processes and solutions comply with regulatory, risk, and card scheme requirements.
Provide analytical insights and recommendations to enhance product performance and operational efficiency.
Ongoing:
Be the decision making member of senior representatives from business and IT in categorizing the migration change management tasks into Agile and Platform streams.
In collaboration with the Product Owners, manage scope and deliver the program scope as agreed/committed in the program, balancing pragmatism with core product functionality, without compromising the original intent of the product
Be responsible for creating User Training plans, manuals and training methodologies
Own the business user acceptance testing and build a core business test team around the migration extraction, validations, and reconciliation tasks.
Own the end to end change management process for which includes, BRD, Product Development, Testing and rollout
Be responsible for resolving day to day issues raised by various stakeholders, by putting up a robust production support and management structure including both business support teams and IT support teams.
Experience:
· Minimum 2 years of experience in Merchant Acquiring Business
Understanding of Payment Gateways
Strong knowledge of merchant acquiring lifecycle – onboarding, transaction processing, settlement, dispute management, and reconciliation.
Understanding of card and digital payment flows, including authorization, clearing, and settlement cycles.
Excellent communication skills written and verbal.
Confident in presentation to senior stakeholders.
Technology skillsets related to Transaction Banking systems and banking systems like Core, Channels, Middleware is an added advantage.
