What are we looking for?
The National Information Technology (IT) Team in Melbourne is now seeking a Cyber Security Business Analyst. This opportunity is a full-time contract role (12 months+) with flexible work options available.
In this role you will collaborate with the business to identify opportunities for enhancing Security operations, technology, and processes, aiming to improve overall security posture. You will work closely with security professionals, stakeholders, and business units to identify and analyse cybersecurity risks, develop effective security controls, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Key responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
Facilitate investigations into business problems with input into business cases, requirements and / or solutions.
Assist with the preparation of business cases / proposals which define potential benefits, options for achieving these benefits through development of new or changed technical system changes, and associated business risks.
Work closely with security engineers and analysts to translate business needs into technical security requirements.
Develop and document security policies, procedures, and standards.
Conduct investigations for business requirements specifications and feasibility studies.
Works as part of the project team with the business, IT, and project managers to deliver the approved and agreed solution.
Assist with scoping and business change initiatives.
Discover and analyse requirements for fitness for purpose as well as adherence to business objectives and IT architectural alignment / strategy.
Identify the impact of business requirements on existing systems / integration points.
Assist in the creation of test cases using own in-depth technical analysis of both functional and non-functional specifications (such as reliability, efficiency, usability, maintainability, and portability)
Assist in setting the scope for any project work coming from approved business cases.
Develop the business requirements and functional / non-functional specifications for the implementation of business, process, and technology changes.
Gather, document and analyse options to meet business needs and solve business problems.
What will you bring?
Key to your success in this role, you will have the following skills, capabilities, qualifications and experience:
Experience:
4+ years Business Analyst experience, 2+years preferably within cybersecurity domain
Demonstrated experience working on projects.
Experience working on business improvement activities, including process mapping.
Experience in Business and Information Technology systems.
Extensive experience gathering requirements, documentation and developing business cases.
Strong stakeholder management & communication
Strong understanding and experience working with business systems & processes.
Skills:
Interpersonal skills
Strong facilitation, gathering and documentation of requirements.
Strong process mapping knowledge
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work on multiple projects at one time
