PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Business Development (BD) Director will be responsible for studying the market and look for business opportunities in travel channels across India. This role is critical as it fuels the growth of Avolta’s business in the region.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Managing Director of India subcontinent and supporting the region in growing business in all channels.
• Work with MD and regional main stakeholders to obtain a constant flow of new business channels opportunities.
• Update and follow up the performance of the strategic plan.
• Prepare and develop the approach and proposals for special tenders.
• Establish contacts with Business Partners to maximize further and sustained business growth.
• Utilize the relationships that have already been established for Avolta to be the first choice.
• Support the management and development of the ‘Business Development Community’ to drive results across the group.
• Work with all of the Business Community Leads to make sure that all areas of the business have contributed to business efficiencies in the Project Process; use internal expert knowledge when required.
• Support the Regional Managing Director in defining the Business Plan targets.
• Prepare & manage the Budget for India Business Development and its projects, ensuring the achievement of the benefits compared to the costs.
• Management of the project process; involving all key stakeholders from Operations and Resources to maximize the best results, defining project plan and time scales for completion.
• Ensure guidelines defined are followed in the projects.
• Day to day management of the ‘Business Development Activities’.
• Continual improvement of ‘Business Development’ policies and processes to increase efficiencies.
• Work with external agencies to produce the formal documentation for all Business Projects, Tenders and Proposals.
• Analyze all key data to support decision making process.
• Complete studies of the markets to support the Regional Managing Director and Regional Directors in decision making.
• Co-ordinate resources and analyze data to achieve business efficiencies.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• Master’s Degree or equivalent degree in relevant fields
• 5 years of proven experience within a complex Retail/F&B or Real Estate organization
• Detailed understanding of Retail and F&B Markets and Operations with exposure to managing complex relationships within a tough business sector.
• High degree of honesty and integrity, and strong work ethics
• Project management skills
• Stakeholder management
• Analytical, methodical and communication skills
• Business analytical skills is desirable
