Job Description
The role will develop sales opportunities and manage assigned account base in order to generate revenue and maximise performance both for the short and long term in line with the annual business and strategic sales and marketing revenue plan for assigned business units as well as the IHG global footprint while ensuring our guest experience is unique and brings the brand to life.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY
Contribute to the development and preparation of the annual business plan and dept operating budget.
Lead the implementation of an effective sales strategy to deliver optimum business mix, achieve maximized results across all revenue streams (budget as a minimum) and superior market positioning.
Lead pro-active and re-active sales resources to deliver sales goals, contributing to above market performance
Continually measure the effectiveness of sales strategy and refine tactical actions accordingly with a focus on accountability and results.
Maintain current knowledge of business performance and understand well the dynamics of the local market, demand generators as well as economic and consumer trends.
Ensure that the correct focus is applied to the creation of opportunities for new business, incremental growth as well as retention.
Form strategic alliances and partnerships to expand the reach of the hotel into relevant audiences.
Harness hotel, area and IHG sales resources, tools and programs to engage in sales strategy implementation
Work closely with Revenue Management to ensure that pricing and yield management principles are being communicated and implemented by the team.
Ensure that opportunities are being maximized to benefit sister hotels as well as other IHG hotels
• Develop and manage costs budgets and expenses to generate maximum returns. • Account management responsibilities for assigned segments.
Drive new business opportunities.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent international degree in Marketing, Business or Hospitality Management
You will have undertaken formal Sales Management training and have an in-depth knowledge of sales principles and techniques
5 years sales experience within Australasia – with a proven track record of success, demonstrated proactive approach to developing and maintaining strong relations with clients and stakeholders
You will have a strong understanding of hotels systems and revenue management principles Experience managing events and creating tailored experiences
Acknowledged as an expert in all aspects of new business hunting and strategies for key account management
A strategic and tactical thinker you will be able to develop strategic sales plans, establish objectives, and deliver projects on time.
You will have outstanding presentation, written and verbal communication skills
You will keep abreast of changes and assesses trends in market conditions and consumer buying behaviour to enable you to create strategies that drive business opportunities.
