Umagine Hydrogen Private Limited (Umagine) is a start-up, registered under the MSME, and recognized as a startup by the Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). Umagine are specialists in the field of green hydrogen with extensive expertise in the entire value chain. Umagine provides strategy consulting and engineering services in the field of green hydrogen. Originally founded in the Netherlands in 2026, the company re-established itself in Ahmedabad, India in 2026. Umagine offers services across the value chain of green hydrogen - strategy consultancy, policy advisory and advocacy pertaining to green hydrogen, technical consultancy and basic engineering for hydrogen projects, support for technology development. The promoters of Umagine have extensive experience in hydrogen technologies, strategy and policy advisory, technology development, EPC, and project execution.
Umagine works with state and national governments in helping them with policy formulations and review in the field of low-carbon hydrogen, sustainability, and carbon-neutral in general. On the engineering front, Umagine undertakes the entire scope from pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, front-end engineering, basic engineering, and support to the detailed engineering and EPC phases of the project. Umagine has delivered several pre-feasibility, and feasibility studies for set-up of green hydrogen and green ammonia production facilities across India, Malta, Turkey, Spain, and Australia. Umagine is working on the development of technology solutions for accelerating the push toward our sustainable future. This includes supporting the development of PEM fuel cell stacks, electrolysers, hydrogen high pressure storage tanks, and other equipment involved in the plant set-up.
Role Description
We are looking for a full-time Business Development Manager to join our team in Ahmedabad. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to increase sales and revenue, as well as identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. The Business Development Manager will also be responsible for managing relationships with existing and potential clients, and providing support to the sales team.
Skills Required
• Knowledge of green hydrogen ecosystem across production, storage, transport, and application
• Awareness of the regulatory aspects such as policies for green hydrogen in India and globally
• Knowledge of the hydrogen industry and market trends
• Passionate in solving for climate change challenges and energy transition
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent written communication, report writing, presentation skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Experience in business development and sales
• Experience in marketing, lead sourcing
• Experience in client development and management
• Experience in working with CRM system for the above activities
Key Responsibilities
• Identification of opportunities across strategy consulting, application engineering, hydrogen sub-systems turnkey supply, technology development
• Build and manage strong relationships with clients, and nurture long-term collaboration
• Responsible for achieving revenue targets as per the business plan
• Jointly work on the short, medium, and long-term business strategy along with the promoters
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
• Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with specialization in Marketing/Sustainability/Energy/Business
Work Experience
• 3 - 5 years of experience in business development, marketing, and sales with at least 1 - 2 years of experience in green hydrogen ecosystem
• Preferably experience working in an advanced green hydrogen economy country such as China, EU, or US
