Business Development Manager-Govt

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within government accounts and related market segments; define effective go-to-market strategies.

• Drive lead generation and new client acquisition in the public sector through multiple channels.

• Set clear sales targets, goals, and objectives aligned with the company’s growth strategy.

• Create impactful pitches, proposals, and RFP/RFQ responses, including requirements gathering to ensure successful lead conversion.

• Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, product, and technical) to align customer requirements with product/service offerings.

• Lead complex sales negotiations and proposal discussions, ensuring alignment with government procurement processes and compliance needs.

• Conduct introductory meetings, presentations, and follow-ups with government stakeholders both online and offline.

• Own revenue generation targets from government accounts.

• Build and maintain long-term, trusted relationships with senior government decision-makers and influencers.

• Track developments and policy changes within client organizations and government bodies that could impact future business.

• Manage and nurture relationships with existing government clients while expanding outreach to potential ones.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, IT, Marketing, Business, or a related field (preferably from a premier institute).

• Proven experience in IT Sales, with a strong track record in selling cloud and data center services, public/private cloud, virtualization, and data storage solutions.

• Prior experience handling government clients, tenders, empanelments, and RFPs is mandatory.

• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), cloud migration, and related data center technologies will be an advantage

• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with the ability to influence at senior government levels.

• Dynamic, energetic, self-motivated, and a strong team player.

Preferred:

• Prior experience in working with government customers in Mumbai or Western India region.
