The main focus of the Business Improvement Analyst is to support several project teams in the delivery of new business process and improvement initiatives.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
Reviewing current practices and processes within Veterans Affairs NZ.
Engaging with key stakeholders: gathering information and input from relevant managers, staff, and other stakeholders including veterans' representatives.
Facilitating workshops to involve and understand stakeholder's perspectives.
Analysing data and making recommendations.
Supporting project teams with policy analysis and updates.
This is a fixed term position ending 30 June 2026. The role is based in the Reserve Bank Building, Wellington CBD. Once you have undergone training and are up to speed, there is the option of working from home up to two days a week.

This newly created position will allow you to utilise your extensive business analyst and process improvement experience, ideally within the public sector. You will be resilient and have an ability to influence and persuade stakeholders in a professional manner.
You will need the following experience to be successful in this role:
Considerable experience researching, investigating, gathering and analysing multiple sources of complex data.
Proven experience utilising business data to influence decision making and make recommendations for future improvements.
A talent of spotting opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of processes, procedures and services.
Significant stakeholder engagement and consultation experience.
Clear and concise communication style especially with written documentation and reporting.
