At ASB, we're looking for an experienced Business Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in helping our customers achieve their financial goals. You'll work with a diverse portfolio of small business clients, identifying opportunities, structuring solutions, and building long-lasting relationships. This is more than just banking - it's about being a trusted partner to business owners across New Zealand.

Te tūranga | The role:

Deliver outstanding customer service by understanding each client's unique needs and recommending tailored banking solutions.

Drive business growth by managing an active acquisition pipeline and following through on business development activities.

Support customers' success through relevant advice, suitable products, and seamless referrals to internal specialists.

Be a subject matter expert on small business industries, understanding key challenges and opportunities.

Coach and develop your peers, contributing to a strong, capable team environment.

Ō pūkenga | About you:

At least 10 years of experience in the finance industry, with 5+ years in Business Banking.

A Bachelor's degree in Commerce or equivalent.

Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal - with a professional presence and customer-first mindset.

A strong understanding of financial statements, credit risk, and structuring complex lending proposals.

Proven ability to identify, secure, and grow new business opportunities.

Broad knowledge of financial markets, trade, and business banking products.

Investigative skills and business insight to understand customer operations and tailor solutions accordingly.

Strong prioritisation skills and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
