Job Description
Your role will assist with the compliance process including preparing the documents/working papers, following set control procedures and frequently communicating with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will also learn about the different businesses, build work papers, analyse complex data and detect and resolve problems
Key responsibilities
Run multiple reports, analyse and compile data to deposit and file JP Morgan's Direct tax E-TDS returns.
Ensure accurate and timely preparation GST Matching Report, Verify the accuracy of GST invoices, input tax credits, not subject GSTR filing.
Stay updated with changes in GST regulations and communicate the impact on the organization
This may include: the calculation of tax, reconciliation of data, financial accounting entries, monitoring of tax positions at a transaction level, preparation of returns and the filing of returns, Respond to TDS notices and coordinate with tax authorities for TDS assessments . Work to strict and tight deadlines on a monthly basis.
Assist with the development of new processes and ensure they are clearly documented. Ensure issues are raised / escalated and driven through to resolution.
Ensure risks & dependencies are highlighted, with mitigation options presented.
Support adhoc queries from Internal and External stakeholders involving running data reports, undertaking data analysis and interpretation in a meaningful manner. Support JP Morgan's IT infrastructure in testing new systems releases.
Run data analytical reports to identify inconsistencies with data and support IT module builds.
Work with Technology and Tax Teams to ensure the smooth implementation of the firm's new software, including UAT, which will compliment manual compliance activities. Assist Local Management with other team initiatives to simplify processes
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
Strong knowledge of GST and TDS regulations and compliance procedures
Ability to work with, and use, large amounts of data.
Background in financial services operations is an added plus
Good analytical skills, a problem solver, logical thinker with strong attention to detail.
Excellent written skills with clear, concise & logical documentation. Good communication, negotiation and relationship management skills
Proficiency in MS Excel, including advanced functions like VLOOKUP, PivotTables, and data analysis tools.

Knowledge of automation tools (Alteryx/Tableau) or experience with Transformation projects is an added plus
