About the Role
For this entry level Buyer position, we are seeking an organized, analytical, and relationship-driven person to join our team. This position focuses on maintaining the smooth flow of inventory through buying books and other content with emphasis in the Medical and Scientific fields. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with data as much as with people, timely communication with publishers and internal teams is key, and attention to detail is required.
Key Responsibilities
Manage buying and replenishment for assigned publishers and product lines
Review sales trends, inventory performance, and title demand to make buying decisions
Maintain sufficient inventory levels to support customer needs and company objectives
Working closely with our publisher vendors implementing proactive expediting techniques
Monitor new title releases, data accuracy, and special orders
Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Marketing teams to support book promotions
Act as back up for Inventory Records Associate
Qualifications
Two years of experience in buying, inventory management, or a related role/post secondary education — experience in the book industry is preferred
Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Passion for books and the publishing industry
