We’re looking for a motivated Cadet Civil Drafter to join our high‑performing Civil team in Adelaide. Working under direct supervision, you’ll develop core drafting and modelling skills, gain exposure across engineering disciplines, and support the delivery of complex infrastructure projects across Defence, Transport and Buildings.

This is an excellent entry‑level opportunity for someone who is passionate about design, eager to learn, and ready to build a long‑term career within the drafting and engineering profession.

The Opportunity:

As a Cadet Civil Drafter, you’ll work closely with senior designers and engineers, contributing to the production of drawings, basic 12d models and design documentation. You’ll learn industry‑standard CAD tools, develop an understanding of civil engineering workflows, and support technical teams across multidisciplinary project environments.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Set up drawings and basic 12d models using CAD software under direct supervision.

Complete electronic filing, configuration control and administrative actions associated with your own work.

Support senior designers and engineers with paraprofessional drafting and design tasks.

Extract and interpret basic information from engineering standards, specifications and supplier literature.

Work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams to understand workflow, coordination and documentation processes.

Undertake supervised site visits to assist with collection of photos, measurements and field data.

Provide technical and administrative support to project teams as required.

What You’ll Bring:

Vocational training via TAFE or similar tertiary provider — Diploma in Civil Engineering Design and Drafting (or working toward it).

Introductory training in 3D CAD (e.g. AutoCAD, 12d).

Demonstrated ability to visualise design intent and perform basic mathematical calculations related to drafting.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

A proactive, positive approach to learning, problem‑solving and contributing to project delivery.
