About the Role

We’re looking for a motivated Cadet Estimator to join our Pre‑Contracts team and support the delivery of accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil and infrastructure projects.

Working under the guidance of experienced Estimators, you’ll assist with tender preparation, cost build‑ups, quantity take‑offs and documentation, while developing strong technical capability and industry knowledge. This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their career who is eager to learn, detail‑focused, and keen to build a future in construction and infrastructure.

You’ll play an important role in supporting both price and non‑price tender inputs, contributing to submissions that help secure future work for the business.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating Support & Tender Preparation

Work collaboratively within estimating and pre‑contracts teams.
Assist with quantity take‑offs, pricing inputs, data entry and cost comparisons.
Support the preparation of accurate and competitive tender pricing under supervision.
Develop an understanding of drawings, specifications and project scope.
Assist with identifying risks, assumptions and exclusions within tenders.
Documentation & Compliance

Maintain accurate tender documentation, registers and filing systems.
Assist in identifying WHS and environmental risks and required controls in tenders.
Follow established estimating processes and document review requirements.
Assist with RFIs, document control and tender submissions.
Learning & Collaboration

Seek guidance and feedback to continuously build estimating capability.
Support tender communications and internal stakeholder interactions.
Assist with tender handovers and post‑award reviews.
Contribute to the preparation of non‑price submission content as required.
About You

You’re proactive, organised and eager to learn. You enjoy working as part of a team, take pride in your attention to detail, and approach tasks with a positive, solutions‑focused mindset.

You will bring:

A willingness to learn and develop a career in estimating or pre‑contracts.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes accurately.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
A collaborative approach and strong work ethic.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Studying toward or having completed a qualification in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline will be highly regarded.

Construction Induction Card (White Card)
