Job Title: CAE Engineer – Virtual Validation
Key Purpose of the Job:
Carrying out & coordinating of all CAE & analysis activities for designed & developing products
within the product portfolio to achieve exceptional results through – personal effectiveness,
partnering with others & building customer loyalty fulfilling their needs in an efficient & effective
manner.
Profile of the Job Holder:
• Masters or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Aerospace Engineering.
• 10 – 15 Years of relevant functional work experience. Demonstrable experience in virtual
validation and advanced product development.
• Highly motivated & self-initiator with good communication skills with the ability to work
effectively in a team environment & across culture.
• Ability to work within a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty in project situations. Take decisions with limited
information where necessary and demonstrate confidence to own decisions.
• Empower themselves by seeking authority to make decisions within appropriate guidelines.
• Work on demonstration projects to new customers & promoting the team technical
competency to the stakeholders and across team.
• Support the team as subject matter expert for the FEA relating to SKF product & application
point of view.
• Work on developing the new competency in line with the future requirements of the different
groups of SKF. To be responsible to keep and capitalize the developed knowledge.
• Empathy - Understand the requirements, and viewpoints of others. Excellent at managing
relationships, listening, and relating to others.
Key Skill & Knowledge Profile:
• Thorough knowledge of the basics of Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Experienced with Sub-
Modeling, Super-element techniques and reduced order modeling.
• Knowledge of Direct and sequential couple field Analysis.
• Can solve independently thermal field problems for steady-state and transient Analysis.
• In depth knowledge in advance topics of ANSYS-Classic /ANSYS-Workbench tools. Hands-on
experience in FE problems solving using the ABAQUS & Hyper-Works
• Work Proficiently in ANSYS Design-Modeler/Space-Claim/ Hyper-Mesh for geometric creation
& modification, Meshing, Morphing skills and advanced feature in respective tools.
• Knowledge of ******** analysis to simulate the high strain rates using commercial tools such as
ANSYS, ABAQUS, MSC-Nastran and Ls-Dyna.
• Understanding of multibody dynamics analysis and can model the physics from scratch and
develop equivalent models in tools like ADAMS and Motion-Solve.
• Having in-depth understanding of structural fatigue theory & fracture mechanics, capability to
execute LCF and HCF Analysis, LEFM, material modeling and design impacts.
• Conversant with FE-SAFE or any commercial Fatigue tool, model setup and results investigation.
• Strong skills in NVH and can execute dynamic response, transient and random vibration analysis. Noise propagation analysis skills are adding advantage.
• Knowledge of advance analysis techniques like failure analysis and Design of Experiments
(DOE) using commercial software’s like ANSYS, Hyper-Study, Mode-Frontier and I-sight.
• Understand and execute Topology and Topography simulation for product optimization.
• Can understand stain gauge test data and interpolate the results. Accordingly create and
develop the methods in FEA.
• Understand the concepts of joints, fastening (Bolt/Studs) and Welding. Able to demonstrate
the weld design and weld fatigue analysis for given physics.
• Experience on Elastic and Hyper elastic material-based analysis and material modeling for
analysis will be an advantage.
• Developing macros for repetitive types of tasks, APDL Snippets for ANSYS-WORKBENCH
• Automation of analysis workflows using Python, J-Script, or xml.
• Should have knowledge of web application development, Desktop applications and Excel
based tools (VBA). Skills in Power-BI is an added advantage.
• Should have skills for Data Analytics, responsible for collecting, managing, and converting raw
data into information that can be interpreted and visualize on respective tools
