The Respect and Restoration Services Consultant supports a healthy, safe, respectful, ethical, and inclusive organizational culture through direct service delivery, collaboration, and subject matter expertise. This role works closely with colleagues across the Service to advance workplace culture through prevention, education, awareness, and restorative practices.

The position is responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of restorative approaches to conflict, supporting a speak-up culture, and delivering alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services such as mediation, consultation, conflict coaching, facilitated discussions, workplace restoration, and trust-building practices. The role also supports confidential reporting processes, assists with data and metrics to assess employee experience and service impact, and collaborates with internal partners across the Calgary Police Service (CPS) to promote continuous improvement in workplace culture. The duties associated with this role include:

Lead intake conversations related to respectful workplace concerns, assess risk, triage matters, and recommend appropriate resolution pathways.
Apply trauma informed alternative dispute resolution approaches, including consultation, conflict coaching, and facilitated discussions, to support early and effective conflict resolution.
Provide expert guidance to leaders and members on respectful workplace practices, human rights, harassment prevention, and behavioural expectations.
Collaborate with internal partners to design, develop, and deliver respectful workplace, human rights, and inclusion, resources, and initiatives across the organization.
Develop and facilitate training and awareness programs focused on preventing harassment and discrimination and strengthening a respectful workplace culture.
Prepare clear, accurate, and confidential documentation, including summaries, findings, and recommendations.
Ensure sensitive information is handled with discretion, professionalism, and strict confidentiality at all stages of the process.
Model and promote the Calgary Police Service (the CPS) values of respect, honesty, compassion, courage, fairness, accountability, and integrity in all interactions.


Qualifications
A degree in Commerce, Business, Social Sciences or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience investigating human rights complaints and complex workplace issues.
Demonstrated knowledge of human rights legislation and trends is required.
Expertise in writing clear and concise reports is required.
Specialized training in conflict resolution, ADR and workplace investigation is an asset.

Pre-employment Requirements
An enhanced security clearance will be conducted.
Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications. Education obtained from out of country must have or be able to obtain, an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) for confirmation of equivalent credentials.
