We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Camera HAL and Device Driver Developers to join our team. As a Camera HAL and Device Driver Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the camera hardware abstraction layer (HAL) and device drivers for our camera systems. You will play a crucial role in ensuring optimal camera performance, image quality, and compatibility with the Android camera subsystem.
Responsibilities:
• Camera HAL Development:
• Design, implement, and optimize the camera HAL layer to interface with the underlying camera hardware.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define camera HAL requirements and specifications.
• Ensure seamless integration of camera functionality with the Android camera service.
• Debug and resolve camera HAL issues, including performance bottlenecks and device-specific challenges.
• Enhance camera HAL capabilities to support advanced features, such as image processing, video recording, and camera effects.
• Device Driver Development:
• Develop and maintain device drivers for camera-related components, including image sensors, ISP (Image Signal Processor), and other camera modules.
• Work closely with hardware engineers to understand camera hardware architecture and implement efficient device drivers.
• Optimize device drivers for performance, power efficiency, and system stability.
• Collaborate with the Android platform team to ensure seamless integration and compatibility with the Android v4l2 multimedia driver.
• OpenGL and/or OpenCL Programming:
• Leverage your expertise in OpenGL and/or OpenCL programming to enhance camera functionality and enable advanced image processing capabilities.
• Implement efficient algorithms for real-time image manipulation, filtering, and computer vision tasks using OpenGL and/or OpenCL frameworks.
• Collaborate with graphics and vision teams to optimize camera performance and leverage GPU acceleration.
• Android Camera Subsystem:
• Possess a deep understanding of the Android camera subsystem and related APIs.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in the Android camera framework and incorporate relevant features into camera HAL and device drivers.
• Collaborate with the Android platform team to ensure adherence to camera subsystem standards and best practices.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong experience in camera HAL and device driver development.
• Proficiency in C and C++ programming languages.
• Solid understanding of the Android camera subsystem, including camera HAL and camera service.
• Experience with Android v4l2 multimedia driver and camera-related components.
• Expertise in OpenGL and/or OpenCL programming for camera-related image processing tasks.
• Experience in Image Processing and Computational Photography, including but not limited to low-light capture, HDR, Depth estimation, video stabilization, denoising, demosaicing, and new camera formats.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills for camera-related issues.
• Familiarity with hardware architecture, camera sensors, ISP, and camera modules.
• Knowledge of computer vision algorithms and image processing techniques is a plus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
