Job Description
This role is a fixed term contract on a part-time basis starting ASAP, until December 2026 (30 hours per week, term time only, 40 weeks). Start date also negotiable. The role is reviewed annually, with the possibility of a new fixed-term contract offered for each school year.
Hours: approx. 8:30am - 3pm, Mon- Friday (some flexibility, to be discussed with the successful applicant)
Promote and Support the ongoing development of high need students individually and in groups.
Contribute to building a positive team environment
Attend and provide feedback for students, staff and families

Skills and Experience:
Experience supporting younger students with learning challenges and high health needs.
Experience applying effective strategies and opportunities for learning.
An understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum and of different learning methods.
A good level of digital competency.
Ability to cater for a student’s varying needs, including implementation of strategies to support development of communication and learning.
Excellent relationship building and communication skills.
Patience, resilience, adaptability and empathy.
You will need:

Able to provide 2 verbal references
Able to pass a Police Check
