The Role Responsibilities

Strategy
• Development lead for time critical and highly visible regulatory application to strategize and implement regulatory commitments as well as maintaining and improving Live projects stability.
• Give Technical guidance to the developers of the scrum team.

Business
• Understand business purpose of user stories and estimate development tasks to fulfil the story.
• Work directly with product owners on technical stories and further define the details on how the story should be implemented.

Processes
• Optimize application code for maximum speed and scalability.
• Integrate software components and third-party codebase.
• Enforce Technical processes, standards and best practices to the team.

People and Talent
• Lead team towards meeting project objectives and initiatives. Not a people leader role but the role must display leadership qualities and coach the junior team members.

Risk Management
• Maintaining excellent relationships and communication with Global stakeholders, other IT teams, product and application owners, and vendors.

Regulatory and Business Conduct
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
• Lead to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank s Conduct Principles: [Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment].
• Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
• Exercise authorities delegated by the Board of Directors and act in accordance with Articles of Association.

Key Stakeholders
• Regulatory Operations, Support Operations and Distributed Architecture teams.

Our Ideal Candidate
• BE / BTech and / or MBA from reputed university, preferably in Computer Science / Information Technology discipline.
• 8 years of relevant experience (overall 12 years of experience).
• A committed technologist to design solutions for complex problems. Hands-on with the team to code and test solutions.
• Excellent Leadership and superior communication skills must have for this role.
• Prior experience in working in a leading bank (or) investment banking is a plus.

Role Specific Technical Competencies
• Software design and application Architecture
• Proficient in Core Java, Maven and Git
• Solid understanding of Web services, REST APIs, Message queue, Distributed / Scalable Architecture
• Working experience in CI / CD pipeline (Sonar, Jenkins)
• Experience working with (or) designing Restful APIs
• Work experience in Agile development methodologies
• Experience with AWS or Microsoft Azure will be a plus
• Experience in Databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL)
