Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Wood Finisher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in woodworking and finishing techniques, with the ability to read blueprints and schematics. This role involves preparing and applying finishes to wood products, ensuring high-quality results that meet our standards. The Wood Finisher will work closely with other team members in a collaborative environment, contributing to various projects that may include cabinetry, furniture restoration, and custom installations.
Duties
Prepare wood surfaces for finishing by sanding, cleaning, and repairing as necessary
Apply stains, paints, varnishes, and other finishes using various techniques and tools
Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications
Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople on construction projects
Perform restoration work on existing wood products to bring them back to their original condition
Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently in the finishing process
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols
Assist in cabinet installation, flooring installation, tile laying, and other related tasks as needed
Engage in heavy lifting and physical labor associated with woodworking projects
Requirements
Proven experience in woodworking, carpentry, or a related field
Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding of construction schematics
Familiarity with CNC machinery is a plus
Knowledge of masonry techniques and concrete forming is beneficial
Experience with construction painting, caulking, rebar installation, roofing, plumbing, electrical work, or maintenance person tasks is desirable
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality finishes
Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods during the workday
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
