Job Description
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Carpenter to join our team, working across multiple residential renovation sites.
This role combines hands-on carpentry work with day-to-day coordination of site activities. The right candidate needs to bring strong carpentry skills, renovation experience, and the ability to work independently across multiple sites. Their ability to manage their own workflow, travel between sites, and operate with minimal supervision is critical to meeting project deadlines and maintaining service quality.
Key Responsibilities
The Carpenter will be responsible for completing renovation and maintenance works across multiple retirement village sites, including:
Perform a broad range of carpentry tasks including framing, fixing, fit-offs, flooring, doors, skirting, cabinetry, and finishing works
Carry out renovation and refurbishment activities including demolition, installation, and detailed finishing
Read and interpret building plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders
Plan and organise daily work schedules to meet project deadlines across multiple sites
Coordinate tasks and workflow to ensure efficient project delivery
Liaise with site managers, contractors, residents, and other trades to ensure smooth operations
Monitor quality of work and ensure compliance with construction standards and specifications
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with WHS requirements and company safety procedures
Transport tools, equipment, and materials between job sites
Maintain tools and work areas in a safe and organised condition
Provide guidance and support to apprentices or junior workers when required
Selection Criteria
Proven experience as a Carpenter, ideally in renovations, residential construction, or maintenance.
Advanced renovation experience and specialised carpentry techniques.
Strong ability to work independently and manage daily tasks across multiple job sites.
Good management and organisational skills to coordinate work efficiently.
Excellent problem solving abilities and the ability to complete work safely and efficiently.
Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with residents and staff.
A strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to high quality workmanship.
Ability and willingness to travel across Sydney for daily work.
Own work vehicle and full set of carpentry tools.
Required Skills
Certificate III in Carpentry (or equivalent qualification)
Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport
White Card
Desired Skills
Additional training in WHS, site safety, or project coordination.
Experience supervising apprentices or managing small tasks independently.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and construction specifications
Understanding of quality standards and compliance requirements in construction

Pay: $43.00 – $59.88 per hour
