Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Carpenter Foreman to lead our construction team in Levin, Manawatu. This permanent, full-time position is crucial for ensuring the successful execution of building projects, maintaining high standards of craftsmanship, and fostering a safe working environment. The Carpenter Foreman will play a key role in coordinating activities on-site, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of carpenters and other construction workers on-site.
Ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
Manage materials and resources efficiently to minimise waste and ensure timely project completion.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and compliance with safety regulations.
Provide training and mentorship to junior carpenters and apprentices.
Liaise with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project alignment.
Prepare reports on project progress, including any issues or delays.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a carpenter, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.
Relevant trade qualification or certification in carpentry.
Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices in construction.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Valid driver's licence and reliable transport.
