Job description

Menfor Group are looking to recruit shuttering carpenters to start work immediately the hourly rate will be between £24ph to £25ph and working 50 plus hours a week depending on experience and checkable references. The location for the work is Newbridge Midlothian and the duration is for 4 months. The work location is within a factory environment and not working on a building site however i will still require you to have a cscs card.

Duties

• Fitting steel to large cages (Not tying)

• Stripping formwork safely once the concrete has set

• Setting out shutters for concrete pours to the required dimensions

• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and plans

Requirements

• Proven experience in shuttering carpentry (essential)

• CSCS Card

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Carpenter & Joiner in HMP Manchester, 1 Southall Street, Manchester M60 9AH.

The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week. Staff are required to work on a rota basis between Saturday to Thursday 08:00 - 17:00; Friday 08:00 - 16:00 . There will be a need to work 1 in 4 weekends, but this would be on a rota basis (and with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary).

What you will do:

• Carry out joinery work to include repairing of doors, windows, signposts, formwork and other bespoke timber items.

• Responsible for joinery workshop - maintenance of machines, statutory inspections, housekeeping and cleanliness.

• Measure and quote for works.

• Order materials and maintain stock of Building Maintenance material.

What you will bring:

• Organisation in work, with attention to detail.

• Manual tool handling.

• Ladder use.

• Level 3 in Joinery & Carpentry is required; however we may consider applications if you have NVQ level 2.

• Experience in Maintenance.
