Overview
We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in carpentry and be adept at using a variety of hand and power tools. This role requires a commitment to quality craftsmanship and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
There is a strong emphasis on door, lock, closer and woodwork repairs.
The Carpenter will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials.
Duties
Construct, install, and repair structures such as frameworks, roofs, and cabinetry.
Use hand tools and power tools effectively to fabricate and assemble wooden structures.
Perform joinery tasks with precision to ensure durability and aesthetic appeal.
Carry out painting and finishing work on completed projects.
Engage in heavy lifting as required for transporting materials and equipment.
Work collaboratively with other tradespeople on site, including electricians for integrated projects.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role within the construction industry.
Proficiency in using hand tools (saws, chisels, hammers) and power tools (drills, sanders).
Strong skills in joinery, assembly, painting, roofing, and general carpentry techniques.
Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently.
Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues on-site.
Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
A valid driver's licence is preferred for transportation of materials when necessary.
