Responsibilities
Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard.
Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials using hand tools and power tools.
Assemble and install cabinets, shelves, drywall, and other fixtures.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety regulations and building codes.
Perform joinery tasks including fitting doors, windows, and other components.
Carry out heavy lifting as required for transporting materials or equipment.
Assist with roofing projects as necessary.
Collaborate with other tradespeople on site to ensure project completion.
Skills
Proficiency in using hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and drills.
Experience with power tools including nail guns and sanders.
Ability to plumb structures accurately to ensure level installations.
Knowledge of painting techniques for finishing carpentry work.
Strong skills in masonry for integrating stone or brick elements into carpentry projects.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues on-site.
Physical stamina for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods.
A keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality finishes in all work completed.
