Basic Compensation
$54,625.00 - $81,880.00
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation
Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance
Responsibilities
The Carpentry Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of carpentry tasks to maintain, repair, and improve facilities and structures for a USG project
Under general supervision, this role requires skilled craftsmanship in carpentry to handle everything from basic repairs to complex construction and finishing work
The technician will work closely with other maintenance staff and project management to ensure that all carpentry-related tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all regulatory standards
This role will be located in Chantilly, VA, and will be expected to travel between our facilities in Chantilly and Springfield, VA
As Carpenter, Maintenance, you will:
Perform routine and preventative maintenance of building woodwork and associated equipment
Design, build, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials, including furniture, stairways, door frames, partitions, and rafters
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp requirements and provide accurate work estimates
Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other material (e.g., fiberglass and drywall) according to measurements
Inspect building frameworks (e.g., walls, roofs) to identify the need for repairs or replacements and ensure structural integrity
Liaise with other maintenance teams to coordinate renovations or major repair tasks
Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment during all construction activities
Maintain accurate records of materials inventory and task completion to ensure accountability and project tracking
Other duties as required

Who You Are

What You’ll Do

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of building materials and construction methods.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
• High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in Carpentry or a related field is preferred.
• Good physical condition and endurance, with the ability to handle physically demanding tasks.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, capable of working effectively with others to complete projects.
• Ability to maximize technical, performance, and operational efficiencies and minimize lifecycle costs.
• Ability to maximize services and capabilities, provisioned as a service.
