Job Description
Responsibilities and duties:
· Prepare drawings for cabinetry, framing and other construction projects on-site. Interpret client requests and provide mock-ups for clients to approve prior to commencing work
· Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
· Construct, erect, install and repair wooden structures and fittings used in internal and external frameworks
· Cut, shape, fit and assemble wood to make templates, jigs, scale models and scenic equipment
· Cutting construction materials according to specifications, installing window frames and doors, decking, cladding, framing, skirting and architraves
· Carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items and install them where designated
· Removes damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools
· Inspects ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures
· Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment
The successful Carpenter will require:
· Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Carpenter in the construction industry.
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
· Good communication and problem-solving skills.
· Chinese language skills are an advantage
