Job Description:
We are looking for a carpenter in a full time permanent role for a min of 30 hours per
week to maximum 40 hours per week. The hourly rate is $25-$35 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understanding client requirements, studying drawings and specifications in order to
plan and estimate as per dimensions, material quality, layouts, material availability
and cost vs budgets.
- Talking to vendors for ordering timber and other materials and selecting as per specs
- Experience of cutting materials, assembling, erecting framework, flooring and floorboards
- Managing fitting exterior wall cladding, doors and window frames
- Repairing existing fitting (e.g., plasterboard patching, plastering,decks,internal walls, ramps)
- Light tiling, Concrete, and paving work
- Small cladding repairs
- Leak investigations and diagnostic work with equipments provided and making plan for remedials
- Ensuring worksites are tidy and safe
- Client communication and reporting on job progress
-following schedule ,timelines provided
-Working with other trades ie electrical,plumber etc.
- updating job progress on software provided in details
-reporting any unforeseen task, work to office and scoping the cost on site
Requirements:
- At least two years or more of relevant experience in carpentry OR a Level 4 trade qualification in building, construction or carpentry
- Proven ability to work independently
- Valid license to operate class 1 vehicle unsupervised
-Clean criminal Record ,can pass drug test random drug test are done on sites
-Able to read plan .drawing, basic math skill is a must
-You will be require to prove your practical skills in the interview ie cutting material to precision
-Knowledge of different cladding and materials and tools used on day to day basis on work sites
-basic knowledge of related trades ,trades come before and after carpenter
-flexible to travel short term and stay overnight
-Flexible to work late and weekends depending on workload
-Flexible to work after hours if required on urgent call outs
