Siteline Deck and Rail is a family-owned construction company based in Nanaimo, specializing in composite decking, vinyl decking, and railing installations for homeowners across Central Vancouver Island — from Qualicum to Salt Spring Island. We take pride in our work, treat clients' homes with respect, and run a professional, organized operation.
We're growing, and we're looking for the right person to join our field crew.
The Role
You'll work as the second member of a two-person crew alongside an experienced Crew Lead, helping build and install decks, railings, and waterproofing systems at residential properties. This is a hands-on, outdoor role — expect physical work, all-weather conditions, and days that go by fast.
No trade experience required. We hire for attitude first. If you show up on time, take direction well, and take pride in doing things right, we'll teach you everything else.
What You'll Be Doing
Assisting with decking, railing, and waterproofing installation
Site prep, demolition, cleanup, and material staging
Following your Crew Lead's direction and learning the trade as you go
Representing Siteline professionally on client properties
What We're Looking For
Reliable — shows up on time, every day, ready to work
Coachable — takes direction and feedback without ego
Physically capable of construction labour (lifting, ladders, outdoor work in all weather)
Professional and respectful around clients and their property
Valid BC driver's –– mandatory
Basic tool familiarity is an asset, but not required
Compensation & Growth
$20–$24/hr to start, based on experience
Clear path to Carpenter ($25–$30/hr)
From there: Crew Lead ($32–$38/hr), and beyond
Steady, full-time hours
Annual wage reviews tied to performance
