Job description, work day and responsibilities

We're a small, client-focused construction company based in Lions Bay, and we're looking for talented individuals to join our team as full-time Carpentry Apprentices for the summer with the possibility of extension over the winter.

At our company, we pride ourselves on producing high-quality work, and our loyal clients are willing to wait years to work with us. Since our founding in 2007, our crews have been known for producing quality work that sets us apart from the competition. Our crews get fully booked months in advance, and this year has been no exception.

We're looking for team members who are committed to producing their best quality work, have a good attitude, and can work in a team environment as well as alone. We believe in investing in our team members and offer competitive wages, benefits after three months, TFSA/RRSP contributions and company-sponsored team building events. We believe in a healthy work/life balance because we know healthy and happy team members produce their best quality work. There is a reason most of our team members have been with us for years.

We require all applicants to have a valid class 5 driver's license with reliable private transportation to get to our works yard. But if you're ready to work hard and grow in your career, we want to hear from you!

Here's what we're looking for:

Fluent English skills
Legal right to work in Canada
Clean criminal record
Steel-toed safety boots and other PPE
Own set of basic tools
Rain gear/cold weather gear
A commitment to constantly learning and improving yourself
A good attitude and the ability to work in a team environment as well as alone
Effective interpersonal skills such as reliability, punctuality, judgement, and being client-focused
Preferred qualifications:

Previous experience in high-end custom residential work
Occupational first aid certification
As a valued member of our team, you'll enjoy:

Competitive wages with benefits after 3 months
Company-sponsored team-building events
A healthy work/life balance
Job security
Exciting and challenging projects
Opportunities for personal and professional growth
Positive and supportive work environment
Responsibilities (depending on position):

Working from drawings or instructions from the Site Superintendent
Adherence to all company and WCB safety regulations
Residential demolition and site clean-up
Build and install platforms, scaffolding, ramps, and ladders
Exterior work such as decks, railings, windows, doors, porches, roofing, siding, excavations, waste removal, and landscaping
Interior work such as foundations including ICF, floor beams, flooring, framework, drywall, cabinetry, tile, minor plumbing and electrical, and timber frame design
Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment
Working with or around heavy equipment such as excavators and cranes
Are you ready to take your career to the next level? If so, we want to hear from you! Email us to start a discussion and become part of our hardworking, supportive team.
