Job Description
We are seeking a high-performing, forward-thinking Case Specialist to join our team. While the official title is Case Specialist, this is a paralegal-level position. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration of a high volume of arbitration cases within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
• Key Responsibilities
• Case Administration: Work within a "vertical team"—consisting of one attorney and two case coordinators—to manage and administer approximately 250 arbitration cases.
Required Qualifications & Experience
• Legal Background: Proven experience as a paralegal or an equivalent role (such as an assistant paralegal).
• Financial Literacy: Familiarity with the finance industry is considered a major plus.
• Education: A strong legal background is required. This role is ideal for a new Juris Doctor (JD) graduate who is eager to enter the field of finance or securities law.
• Note: This position is not intended for experienced attorneys, as the nature of the work may not be fulfilling for those already established in their legal careers.
Desired Skills & Personality Traits
• High Performance: Ability to "hit the ground running" and learn complex processes quickly.
• Proactive Engagement: We are looking for an individual who is eager to be here, speaks up in meetings, and is "forward-thinking".
• Communication Style: Candidates must be responsive and professional; "dry and unresponsive" personalities will not be a fit for this high-engagement environment.
• Procedural Strategy: Participate in weekly horizontal paralegal team meetings to discuss procedures, code revisions, and strategies for case implementation.
• Process Innovation: Actively provide suggestions on how to innovate and improve internal processes rather than just following existing protocols.
• Collaboration: Maintain an "open sharing personality," communicating thoroughly with multiple teams and eventually assisting in training new team members.
• Professional Communication: Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills in all professional interactions and meetings.
Pay: $30.00 - $37.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
