SUNTEA Ackroyd, a renowned tea brand in Richmond, BC, is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Cashier/Barista with a bright smile to join our DAY/MORNING shift. This is a full-time position for someone passionate about customer service and eager to grow in the fast-paced tea industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service: Provide friendly and prompt service, ensuring each guest has a positive experience.
Multitasking: Manage multiple tasks at once, including customer interactions and assisting with store operations during busy periods.
Quick Learning: Adapt quickly to learning the menu, in-store processes, and cash register operations, ensuring smooth service.
Transaction Handling: Efficiently process customer orders, handle cash and electronic payments accurately, and issue receipts.
Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure the cashier area is clean, well-organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
Product Knowledge: Understand the menu offerings to answer customer questions and make recommendations.
Assist in Other Duties: Support teammates with tasks such as stocking, organizing, and occasional support with preparing orders during busy periods.
Working in a fast paced environment: accurately making drinks fast.
Qualifications:
Previous cashier or customer service experience in a fast-paced environment in a bubble tea shop or cafe.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to engage with customers in both English and Mandarin/Cantonese (preferred).
Quick learning skill.
Ability to multi-task and stay organized, especially during peak hours.
Positive attitude with a commitment to customer service satisfaction.
Attention to detail in handling transactions and maintaining store cleanliness.
Must be available for nighttime shifts, including weekends.
Work Schedule:
Shift Time: 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Fixed Workdays: Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
(This schedule is fixed and non-negotiable. During training or special adjustment, shifts may vary.)
Compensation & Benefits:
Cashier-Basic Hourly wage tier for DAY SHIFT: Beginner - minimum wage/hr +0% tips. Intermediate - $18.00/hr + 100% tips. Advanced - $1+.00/hr +150% tips. Master - $20/hr +150% tips
Shaker-Basic Hourly wage tier for DAY SHIFT: Beginner - minimum wage/hr +0% tips. Intermediate - $18.00/hr + 100% tips. Advanced - $18.00/hr +100% tips. Master - $18.5/hr +100% tips
Statutory holiday pay: 2.5x for working on statutory holidays or 1x pay for non-working days (based on a 7.5-hour day). Eligibility requires working over 15 days in the 30 days prior to the holiday.
Vacation pay: Paid vacation as per provincial standards.
