Job Description
We welcome retired teachers, candidates currently in teacher education programs, and certified teachers with teachables in Grades 7–12. Applicants should be prepared to step into classrooms on short notice and carry out full teaching responsibilities, including classroom management, supervision, and instructional delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver instruction aligned with InnovOak’s Everstone+ curriculum framework and established classroom expectations.
Maintain a calm, structured, and positive learning environment, managing routines and transitions effectively.
Adapt lesson plans and materials as needed to meet student needs and ensure instructional continuity.
Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, and during recess or transitions, as required.
Support assessment practices by providing timely and professional communication to permanent teachers about student progress, behaviour, or instructional needs.
When assigned to multi-day or planned coverage, prepare and deliver lessons independently and manage all teacher responsibilities for the assigned period.
Follow all school policies and routines including attendance, safety, and classroom technology use.
Represent InnovOak in a professional manner and contribute to maintaining a safe, productive school environment.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field is preferred.
Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification is preferred.
Senior School (Grades +–12) supply teachers should hold a relevant subject teachable.
Prior experience in public or private school settings is an asset.
Candidates currently enrolled in a B.Ed. program or alternate teacher training pathway are welcome to apply.
Demonstrated written and spoken fluency in English is required.
Additional Information
CDS Teachers work from 8:15 AM to 3:30 PM on full-day assignments.
This is a casual, on-call position with no guarantee of daily work; frequency depends on school needs, candidate availability, and willingness to accept assignments on short notice.
Continued work is based on performance, student/teacher fit, and parent feedback.
Opportunities may arise for long-term occasional (LTO) or contract positions based on successful supply days.
