Casual Educational Assistant – Junior School
We are seeking a passionate and reliable Casual Educational Assistant to join our Junior School team.
The Educational Assistant – Junior School (EAJS) plays a crucial role in supporting HVGS Junior School students and staff by supporting them to provide individual, small group and in-class support. The EAJS has a passion for helping students be the best they can be and help create an environment where students are able to flourish.
This position is a casual position.
Key Duties
Provide small-group interventions in literacy and numeracy (where required).
Assist individual children to develop social, emotional, or behavioural skills as needed in accordance with a students personalized learning plan.
Develop and locate teaching resources to support teachers of students with diverse needs.
Support teachers to maintain an effective and vibrant learning environment, via the delivery of educational curriculum, specifically as it relates to student’s individual needs.
Undertake administrative duties including student progress reports, record keeping, support with data collection for NCCD funding, printing and copying.
Support and assist teaching staff with the personal hygiene needs of students where reasonable required.
Provide direct supervision to small groups of students during different times throughout the school day in both the classroom and playground / school grounds (ie playground duties).
Attendance at school exclusions and/or camps to support and assist students in both academic and non-academic activities.
Complete observations of students as required.
Set up equipment used in class when relevant to adjustments and modifications (inside and outside learning environments).
Support the Junior School Office with delivering messages to teachers and students, helping collect students as required.
