Job Title
Stockperson / Grocery Team Member
Job Summary
The Stockperson / Grocery Team Member plays a key role in ensuring the store is well stocked, organised, and presented to company standards. This position supports daily store operations by receiving deliveries, stocking shelves, rotating stock, and assisting with inventory control. Availability during daytime hours is required, with flexibility to work night shifts when needed.
Key Responsibilities: Stock Receiving & Handling
Receive and unpack deliveries in a timely and efficient manner
Check stock against delivery dockets and invoices for accuracy
Identify and report damaged, missing, or incorrect stock
Ensure all stock is handled safely to prevent damage or injury
Shelf Stocking & Presentation
Replenish shelves with stock according to store layout and merchandising standards
Rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) principles
Check expiration dates and remove expired or damaged items from shelves
Maintain clean, tidy, and well-organised aisles and storage areas
Face up shelves to ensure products are neat and attractive
Inventory & Documentation
File and organise invoices, delivery dockets, and stock paperwork accurately
Assist with stocktakes and inventory checks as required
Report low stock levels or discrepancies to supervisors
Label and price stock correctly
Store Operations Support
Assist other departments when required
Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures
Use stock handling equipment safely (e.g. pallet jacks)
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including cool rooms and storerooms
Customer Service
Provide friendly and helpful assistance to customers when on the shop floor
Answer basic product or location enquiries professionally
Represent the store in a positive and professional manner
Availability Requirements
Must be available to work day shifts
Flexibility to work night shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required
Skills & Attributes
Strong attention to detail
Good time management and organisational skills
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
Basic computer or paperwork skills for invoice and stock filing
Willingness to learn and follow store procedures
Experience
Previous supermarket or retail stocking experience preferred but not essential
Training will be provided
Job Type: Casual
Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
