Job Skills / Requirements Position: | Casual Security Guard
Site: | Ciena Corporation (5050 Innovation Dr)
Hours: | Various Hours
Pay rate: | $21.50/hour

External Closing Date: August 10, 2026
Job Responsibilities
Dispatching alarm and occurrence responses
Coordinating scheduling changes, book-offs, etc.
Documenting all information into comprehensive reports
Escalating situations to stakeholders as required
Ensure necessary procedures are followed in the event of emergencies such as bomb threats, fires, and break and enters etc.
Liaise with local emergency services and client personnel
Provides briefings to management, supervisors and staff as required
Patrolling
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
Valid (WSIB Approved) First Aid Certificate Level C
Authorized to legally work in Canada
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities of the job:
Functional ability with the Windows operating system and Windows Office software such as Excel and Word
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
Familiarity with Tracktik is considered an asset
Superior customer service and professionalism
Above average English communication skills, both verbal and written; French is considered a strong asset
Ability to function independently and multi-task effectively in a dynamic environment
