Location:
New Westminster (Near Royal Columbian Hospital - Sapperton)
Shifts and Hours:
Casual/Back Up
2 to 3 hour shifts as needed
Evenings
Compensation:
$24 per hour
Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):
Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
Assist with mobility and exercise routines, including going for walks and assisting with range of motion exercises
Help with laundry, folding clothes, and putting them away
Make beds and keep patient's living space tidy and organized
Prepare meals according to the patient's dietary needs and preferences
Clean up after meals and do dishes
Provide light massaging to ease Parkinson's stiffness
Throw away garbage and maintain cleanliness of patient's living space
Assist with incontinence issues as needed
Provide emotional support and companionship to the patient and their family
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Certification as a nursing assistant or equivalent experience
Experience working with Parkinson's patients
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable transportation
Ability to pass a background check
Live in the New Westminster (Sapperton) area is preferred
