Job Description
ROLE DESCRIPTION 1. Work with Chief Category Head in developing category plan and strategies to improve product sales 2. Responsible for setting competitive price points and adjusting prices to increase sales and to clear out stagnant items from inventory 3. Assortment creation. Stay updated on category trends and competitive market. 4. Responsible for negotiating pricing, delivery, and payment terms, all of which can affect the retail profit margin of the products and the individual retail store. 5. Creation of new product categories considering consumer needs & wants. 6. Build strong working relationship for new business opportunities 7. Conduct business review with vendors to achieve mutual profitable goals 8. Planning to ensure availability of inventory & maintain stock turns. +. Assist in budget development and expense management programs 10. Monitor and control expenses within allotted budget
Reporting to: Chief Furniture Category (Head)
Qualification: Bachelor’s in business, retailing, management, sales, or marketing. MBA preferred. Experience: 5-7 years of working knowledge of the products, consumer needs, buying practices, sales goals, and the retail environment related to the merchandise category is beneficial Technical Skills: Business acumen,
Experience in buying, category management. Exposure to design will be added advantage. Behavioral Skills: Result Oriented, Go-getter, Problem solving, Negotiation skills
