Our client, a distinguished name in the event catering industry, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Catering Operations Manager to oversee and enhance our service delivery in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, IN . This role is crucial for ensuring the flawless execution of all catering events, from initial planning and logistics coordination to on-site management and post-event follow-up. You will be responsible for managing event staff, coordinating with vendors, ensuring client satisfaction, and optimizing operational efficiency to maintain our reputation for excellence.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing the end-to-end logistics for all catering events, including staffing, equipment, transportation, and setup. Recruiting, training, and supervising event staff, ensuring adherence to service standards and company policies. Collaborating closely with the sales and culinary teams to translate client requirements into operational plans. Conducting pre-event briefings and post-event debriefings with staff to ensure smooth execution and continuous improvement. Overseeing on-site event execution, ensuring timely service, quality food delivery, and exceptional customer experience. Managing vendor relationships and ensuring timely delivery of supplies and services. Monitoring event budgets and controlling operational costs effectively. Implementing and enforcing health, safety, and sanitation standards across all events. Addressing client concerns and resolving any issues that arise during events promptly and professionally. Analyzing event performance and identifying areas for operational improvement and cost savings. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in catering operations management or event management. Proven experience in a leadership role managing diverse teams is essential. Strong understanding of food and beverage service, event planning principles, and operational logistics isrequired. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills are paramount. The ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment is critical.
