Cath Lab Nurse

Job Description: The Cath Lab Nurse plays a critical role in cardiovascular care, specializing in assisting during cardiac catheterization procedures and other interventions in the cardiac catheterization laboratory (Cath Lab). This role involves providing direct patient care, monitoring vital signs, and assisting cardiologists and other healthcare professionals during procedures.
Key Responsibilities: Patient Care: Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the process.
Procedure Assistance: Assist cardiologists and cardiac catheterization technologists during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Monitoring: Monitor patients’ vital signs and assess their condition during and after procedures, recognizing and responding to any complications.
Documentation: Maintain accurate medical records and documentation related to procedures, medications administered, and patient progress.
Patient Education: Provide patients and their families with information about procedures, recovery, and post-procedure care.
Education Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
Experience in critical care, cardiac care, or cath lab nursing preferred.
Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and catheterization procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Attributes: Ability to remain calm under pressure and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
