Description
• Conduct comprehensive pre-procedure assessments, including reviewing patient history, vital signs, and diagnostic tests.
• Explain procedures to patients and their families, addressing any questions or concerns to ensure understanding and comfort.
• Prepare patients for catheterization by ensuring proper positioning, intravenous access, and medication administration as ordered.
• Assist cardiologists during catheterization procedures by providing necessary instruments, monitoring patient vital signs, and administering medications as required.
• Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols throughout the procedure.
• Monitor patients for any signs of complications or adverse reactions during procedures, responding promptly as necessary.
• Monitor patients in the recovery area, assessing vital signs, cardiac rhythm, and overall condition following the procedure.
• Provide immediate post-procedure care, including wound care and management of access sites.
• Educate patients and families about post-procedure care, discharge instructions, and follow-up appointments.
