DCS Credit Underwriter, Senior Associate

You will be part of Dealer Commercial Services (DCS) that supports this function's CRO in underwriting and managing credit risk in the automotive dealer portfolio and at the same time provide best in class services to these dealers to fulfil their financing needs. As a senior credit underwriter within DCS India Credit team, you will independently take an end-to-end responsibility of the credit portfolio of dealers assigned to you. The activities largely involve new credits, annual review and active portfolio risk management.
This role will be part of underwriting team based in India and will have following requirements:
- Take ownership of your portfolio and utilize excellent credit skills to work independently on the portfolio of relationships assigned to you.
- Understand nuances of dealership financials and identify any inconsistencies or risks associated with provided financials
- Utilizing excellent credit skills to author well thought out and concise analysis of DCS relationships using appropriate structure and identifying key risks.
- Draft a comprehensive credit approval memo and present it for decision from appropriate authority.
- Use multiple tools to identify and escalate any early warning indicators on an ongoing basis.
- Conduct ongoing follow up and monitoring of dealership performance metric to ensure compliance with loan documentation and bank policies and procedures.
- Work in partnership with the Bankers to develop excellent Client relationships including being looked at as the go to person when the banker is out.
- Work proactively, in a constructive, diplomatic manner, with both internal and external contacts to keep transactions moving.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills both internally and externally and use those communication skills to effectively solve problems.
- Have the ability to voice your opinion in a clear, concise manner and to defend that position with Management.
- Meet assigned timelines and ensure documentation requirements are met per the business and audit requirements
• Minimum Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- 10-12 years' experience in Credit, Audit, Compliance or Risk Management
- Knowledge of risk and control assessment process
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally to achieve measurable results
- Skills & experience to manage targeted portfolios (e.g. formal credit training, treasury product knowledge, problem loan experience)
- Bachelor's Degree required with a focus in Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics preferred
- CA, MBA or professional certification preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal presentation skills

- Prior experience in US Market and Auto industry is preferred
- Exposure to US accounting standards
