Job Title: ECE Centre Cook (Fixed-Term – 4 Weeks)

Duration: 4-week fixed-term assignment
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Centre Cook to support a well-established Early Childhood Education (ECE) centre in Remuera for a four-week period. This role is critical in ensuring children receive nutritious, balanced meals in line with Ministry of Education and health guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and prepare daily morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea for children aged 0–5 years
Develop weekly menus aligned with Ministry of Health nutritional guidelines
Cater for allergies, cultural requirements, and special dietary needs
Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
Manage food ordering, stock control, and budget effectively
Ensure compliance with Food Control Plan and ECE licensing criteria
Maintain accurate records (temperature checks, cleaning schedules, etc.)
Skills & Experience
Previous experience cooking in an ECE centre, school, or similar environment
Strong understanding of child nutrition and allergy management
Knowledge of NZ food safety standards and compliance requirements
Food Safety Certificate (Level 2 or equivalent preferred)
Ability to work independently and manage kitchen operations
Current Police Vet (or willingness to obtain one)

Hours
Part-time or full-time hours available (to be confirmed), Monday to Friday during centre operating hours.
