The Engineering Chapter Lead role for Origination is critical to making this happen, as they build and guide a team (chapter) of Engineers across multiple delivery teams - working closely with other chapter leaders, product owners, and our leadership team to ensure that your chapter always has the right capabilities in place to deliver product quickly and safely to our customers. You need to be able to get hands on – you may join a squad and do heavy lifting in the code, solution design, or bug solving when needed.

Finally, your chapter and the Tribe will look to you to champion best practices in Engineering, driving the adoption of effective processes, best in class tooling, and automation at every turn.

As a chapter lead, you will bring domain knowledge or deep expertise to this task and develop this expertise and T-shaped capabilities in your chapter members. Importantly, chapter leads care for and nurture the growth of their chapter members to ensure they are inspired by a sense of purpose and are continually building their mastery and autonomy.

• Technology leadership Road mapping for Engineering Hands on help to design and build solutions Establishing best practices and coaching Engineers on what "good looks like" Unblocking teams
• People management Recruiting and building teams Supporting and growing people HR, goal setting and performance management Contractor management through Vendors
• Building our Engineering Community
• Leading initiatives for uplift in people, process, and technology
• Supporting our Asset Health and compliance
• Extensive experience working in agile teams and managing stakeholders
• Amazing team leadership and soft skills - building and coaching your team, managing stakeholders, communication, performance management, conflict resolution...
• Ability to build and articulate a strategy and roadmap for both the short-term and long-term
• Strong software engineering or BE preferred
• Ability to write performant, testable, reusable code
• Knowing when and how to apply DRY, KISS and SOLID
• Solid understanding of agile software development methodologies
• Strong understanding of modern solution development, including: Web Applications and their underlying technologies (both frontend & backend preferred)
• API design and development
• Testing frameworks, code testability, build pipelines and CI/CD systems
• Version control (GIT) & branching strategies
• Containerisation, IAC, and Microservices
