The Role
We are seeking an individual to oversee the restaurant's kitchen by effectively managing other kitchen and food preparation team members. This role requires skilled and competent individuals who can supervise the kitchen and ensure all kitchen-related operations are running smoothly.
Duties
Cooks guests' orders according to their preferences;
Employs food safety best practices and ensures all kitchen staff members do the same;
Selects choice ingredients to give dishes the best flavour;
Determines how much food to order and maintains an appropriate supply at the restaurant through regular stock takes;
Keeps up with trends in cooking and the restaurant business to provide a unique experience for guests;
Works efficiently and effectively during busy periods, such as weekends and large functions;
Qualifications and Requirements
Rlevant qualifications are required, however 3 years of relevant experience may substitute for the qualification;
Have at least 3 years of experience as a chef in a similar restaurant;
Plan menus and create new dishes;
Oversee pre-planning requirements of food and ordering required supplies;
Earn quality dishes and present them well;
Manage the kitchen, including requirements for additional staff and be responsible for training them;
Uphold proper health and safety requirements in the kitchen;
Stay informed about current industry trends to ensure the business operates in accordance with market demands;
